TRAVEL A Word about the Chinese …

Chinesen I

Erster Angriff der Krieger aus dem Reich der Mitte ...

Chinesen II

… und die zweite Attacke!

I HEREWITH DECLARE THAT I’M NOT A RACIST! I’m only telling the truth after many painful experiences. And I know that thousands of fellow traveller will heartily agree with me. THE CHINESE ARE A MENACE, wherever they appear in groups. Without the least decency, not to speak of tact or formal education. I saw them clean their shoes at breakfast (not one, very many!) with the tablecloth! Whereever they are, inside or outside, they are more often spitting than Lamas! They always shout, standing near each other or over huge distances, they got no feeling whatsoever for silence in public places! They storm elevators before the people inside have any chance to leave it! And if you are waiting for the elevators, they push you back, even old ladies jostle you like rugby players do! In shops, they grab things over your shoulder, through your arms or passing your hands – without any excuse! In lobbies, when tired, to bed themselves to sleep on chairs and couches, not caring that they are stealing seating opportunities for dozens of people. And have you ever seen 60 Chinese with 60 Selfiesticks? I think on this occasion their buried DNA pops up, forcing them to perform the traditional martial art of sword fighting! I could go on with my complaints almost indefinitely … – Well, I don’t think the Chinese are horrible people in general, not at all, but these Chinese who are 1. allowed to travel (abroad), and 2. have the money to to it, are a new class in China. Totally in-experienced in behavior and inter-human relations. They have never heard of etiquette. They are, in this sense, not even to blame for their rude performances. This I had to say, traveling twice to and fro China in the last six weeks …
