Chopsticks

I have eaten with chopsticks for ages but never saw the difference. But it’s true what somebody told me recently: The tips of the Chinese sticks are cut off and the Japanese eating-tools are daggers. Why? The more easily agitated Chinese used the chopsticks as weapons and killed each other, before a goverment outtruled sharp tips and the cut-off sticks became custom. The more peaceful minded Japanese never used their chopsticks in battle and therefore they still have pointed tips. Interesting …
