It’s a shame, Zambia didn‘t make it. This beautiful and seriously governed country tried to fill the void Zimbabwe’s regime of Robert Mugabe created with it’s ridiculous policy. But they couldn’t. Why? They lack the infrastructure Zimbabwe has. Their marketing was nut good enough. They didn’t have the trained people for more tourists. And the clever tourism managers of Zimbabwe found a solution: Avoid Harare!, the capital, the source of the evil. Go to the touristic hotspots directly. Fly airlines who land in Victoria Falls. Like the Ethiopian Airlines who is, by the way, by far the cheapest! Book Frankfurt-Addis Abeba-Vic Falls, spend a day or two in the Ethiopian capital, and pay no more than 700 Euro or 800 US$ for the roundtrip. Try to make a deal! In the bad time when nobody visited Zimbabwe the lodges have renovated, they are functioning now again, the animals have recovered from the fleets of zebra-striped or khaki-green cars, the people were always very nice and Comrade Mugabe and his henchmen are far away, fortunately. So remember: Ethiopian to Vic Falls …
